An officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department has been temporarily suspended and removed from a specialized unit after an internal affairs investigation determined that he posted “KILL THEM ALL” during a Facebook livestream of protesters in late June.

According to CBS News, Sergeant Keith Wrede reportedly used the pseudonym 'Steven Eric' when he posted "KILL THEM ALL" during a local television station's live coverage of a Black Lives Matter protests on Facebook Live.

CSPD Chief Vince Niski said in a statement, "We offer our organizational humility and a heartfelt apology to our entire community. Please make no mistake that I do not condone his actions, or attempt to minimize the severity of harm it has done in a time of rebuilding between law enforcement and the community."
