Portland Federal Buildings Closed in Response to Bomb Threat

A source with knowledge of the situation said that federal authorities received a threat that a vehicle filled with explosives would hit a federal building.

All federal buildings in Portland, including the Federal Bankruptcy Court and Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse downtown, closed Friday amid a bomb threat now under investigation by the FBI.

The Bankruptcy Court cited a “threat of violence in the area” as the reason for its shutdown.

A source with knowledge of the situation told Oregon Live that federal authorities received a threat that a vehicle filled with explosives would hit a federal building. It’s not clear if a specific building was named.
