The Garfield (NJ) Police Department has called out for help for an officer who lost her home, her car, and all of her material possessions when a fire engulfed two structures on Saturday night.

The Garfield (NJ) Police Department has called out for help for an officer who lost her home, her car, and all of her material possessions when a fire engulfed two structures on Saturday night.

According to ABC News, the four-alarm fire destroyed the home of Officer Rebecca Schmidt, and claimed the life of her pet cat, but none of the occupants of the home were harmed.

Police are urging anyone who is feeling generous to make a donation to officer Schmidt's family.
