An officer with the Chicago Police Department who was struck by a passing vehicle during a traffic stop on Saturday night is now listed in good condition and is expected to recover from his injuries.
According to CBS News, the officer was conducting a vehicle stop in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side of the city, when the driver fled the scene, striking the officer.
The officer—whose name has not been released—was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The suspect vehicle has not yet been located and the driver remains at large.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
