Toledo Officer Shot and Killed at Standoff

A 24-year-old Toledo, OH, police officer was shot and killed Monday afternoon during a standoff with an arson suspect. The suspect was also killed.
Officer Brandon Stalker joined the force in 2018.
Stalker was reportedly killed by Christopher A. Harris, a man police say vandalized and attempted to burn the Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral Monday morning.
Police were serving a warrant on Harris when he barricaded himself into a house, officials told WTOL.
SWAT and negotiators were called.
Negotiation failed, tear gas was deployed, and Harris reportedly came out of the house firing two guns, police say. Harris was killed when officers returned fire.
Stalker who was working the perimeter was reportedly hit in the head by one of Harris' rounds. He died in a local hospital.
