FL Deputy’s BWC Captures Video of Swiftwater Rescue

One responding deputy had 200 feet of rope in his patrol vehicle. Combined with that, five deputies formed a human chain to pull the woman to safety in rushing water reported to be 10 feet deep.

Body-worn camera video released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (FL) shows deputies rescue a woman who was in a car swept away by rushing flood waters.

The sheriff’s department reports the car was caught in the current when the Little Econ River surged following Hurricane Ian.

One responding deputy had 200 feet of rope in his patrol vehicle. Combined with that, five deputies formed a human chain to pull the woman to safety in rushing water reported to be 10 feet deep.

The video shows two deputies hold onto the rope as they cross the treacherous water to reach the woman. Moments later, she uses the same rope to cross the current to safety.
