Security robot manufacturer Knightscope says its systems have helped law enforcement officers stop carjackings, prevent vandalism, detect insurance fraud, and arrest a sexual predator.
The company's latest model is the K5 autonomous robot, a weatherproof robot that is built for both outdoor and indoor operations. The K5 features 360-degree high-definition cameras with low-light/no-light capabilities, 30 days of data storage, visual and audio alarms, people detection, license plate recognition, and signal detection.
Knightscope says the K5 can operate 24/7, monitoring facilities for security issues and notifying users when there is a problem such as an unauthorized vehicle in a restricted area. In addition, the very presence and appearance of the K5 acts as a deterrent.
