Attorney Randy Means and use-of-force expert Ed Nowicki decided to team up to teach their "Best Practices in Use of Force" seminar to keep officers safe and agencies well protected concerning issues related to the use of force.
For many years, Attorney Randy Means has been the primary legal and risk management instructor for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). Career law enforcement veteran and trainer Ed Nowicki currently serves as the executive director of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA). Nowicki has been qualified as a use of force expert at many state and federal courts across the nation.
Means and Nowicki will offer their "Best Practices in Use of Force" training through the specially formed ABLE (Allied Benefit to Law Enforcement) Group. The program is open to any sworn law enforcement officer, correctional officer, legitimate security professional, member of the military, or law enforcement trainer or educator.
Upcoming training dates include Nov. 9-10 in Schaumburg, Ill, near Chicago, and Dec. 7-8 in Belleville, Mich., near Detroit.
