The official version of the Social Security Administration Death Master File is now available online in a variety of applications to verify people’s identity claims and to help prevent fraud.

A law enforcement agency no longer needs an IT staff just to maintain and update this large database of deaths reported to the SSA. Whether you need only a limited number of inquiries or an ongoing subscription to search for and match hundreds or thousands of names and social security numbers, you can use the data to meet your agency’s needs.

While smaller departments might want to purchase just a few queries, a larger agency that has a greater need for identity verification might want to purchase an ongoing subscription or even purchase the raw data to be formatted to the agency’s own in-house system.
