The IACP Technology Conference is taking place in Jacksonville, FL, May 20–22. At the event on Tuesday, May 21, at 4 pm ET, Panasonic will take part in a panel discussion, titled: "Managing Officer Safety Now and in the Future through a Strong Technology Ecosystem." On the panel, Scott Landau and Jack Marks of Panasonic will be joined by public safety officials from the Law Enforcement Advisory Council, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, and Boston Police to discuss the ways technology is being used to promote officer safety.

In today’s mobile world – whether in the car, on foot, or at the station – officers face more potential safety hazards than ever. This includes concerns over distraction, lack of situational awareness, and the burden of losing critical data on scene, among others. To help solve these challenges, technology continues to evolve to manage risk in all aspects of the job. This includes 4G LTE FirstNet connectivity, speech recognition, mobile platforms that capture digital evidence to enhance officer safety and awareness, as well as body worn cameras, in car video, digital evidence management, and video analytics for both cloud and on-premise environments.
