The Mississippi Band of the Choctaw Indians (MBCI) recently added a paperless solution to their public safety software suite from PTS Solutions to store, retrieve and search for documents electronically. The PTS Virtual Filing Cabinet (VFC) will cut down on the need to print paper  documents and will assist in the search and storage issues associated with housing so many printed materials, according to the company.

"We are very pleased with our PTS modular software suite and hope to continue to add to the system as  the need arises and funds are available," said Wendell Willis, director of M.B.C.I. public safety.

PTS provides an entire public safety software suite to M.B.C.I. including computer-aided dispatch, police incident reporting, jail management, court management, fire reporting and more. The first products were installed with the tribe in 2006 with supplemental modules added on several occasions.

The PTS Solutions Virtual File Cabinet that was recently added takes record storage and retrieval far beyond the traditional objective of simply  searching for and locating database records. Seamlessly integrated with the PTS Solutions public safety software applications, copies of records are automatically transferred to the VFC. The data is indexed and stored, and the copies are linked back to the application’s database. To search for and locate the record, users simply need to enter any word or phrase that exists in the record.
