The sister of a wanted fugitive claims the Latah County (Idaho) Sheriff's Office bullied him online, which played role in his decision to commit suicide on Sunday.
The death of Andrew Cain, 19, came a day after the sheriff's office posted a message on Facebook that read, "We have decided that Andrew Cain is no longer the Wanted Person of the Week... he is the Wanted Person of the Month of June. Congratulations!"
Sheriff Wayne Rausch told KTVB the post was not appropriate and added that it has never been his policy to include editorializing in media releases.
The message was reportedly posted by Sgt. Doug Andersen, who also reportedly send several messages to Cain via Facebook. Cain's sister, Alise Smith, told KLEW that Sgt. Andersen "needs to apologize to my family personally."
