Cellebrite and Nuix this week announced a partnership that will enable users to contextualize complex investigations and see larger connections more quickly.

By integrating the data that Cellebrite UFED extracts and decodes from cell phones, tablets and GPS devices with other data Nuix can digest, the partnership enables more efficient and effective investigations and electronic discovery processes, according to the companies.

The alliance will enable forensic investigators, law enforcement, military and intelligence analysts and electronic discovery practitioners to efficiently incorporate forensically sound mobile device data into investigations and legal discovery procedures.

The two companies are working on deeper and more seamless integration between their products. Nuix Investigator and electronic discovery software can already acquire and analyze data from Cellebrite forensic images, while future releases will include the ability to extract and map geographical data from mobile device logs.

"Ingesting multiple Cellebrite images into Nuix enables investigators to conduct complex analytics and cross-reference data from many devices through a single interface," said Jeff Hayes, Cellebrite's VP of business development. "Mobile devices are becoming discoverable in a growing number of legal contexts, so partnering with Nuix gives our customers access to best-in-class early case assessment and eDiscovery data processing capabilities."

Nuix and Cellebrite hosted a workshop on extracting and analyzing mobile device data at the Techno Security and Mobile Forensics World conferences in Myrtle Beach, S.C., earlier this week.
