Calif. School Shooter Calmly Sprayed Classroom with Bullets

Harboring a murderous grudge against students and administrators he believed disrespected him, 43-year-old One L. Gon was "chaotic, calculated, and determined" to kill, Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan told ABC's "Good Morning America" Tuesday.

Gon used a .45-caliber handgun to execute six students and a receptionist on Monday, when he opened fire at Oikos University, a small religious college near Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, reports the Silicon Valley Mercury News . Three other students were wounded.

On Monday morning, Gon entered the school and apparently took a receptionist hostage. He then entered a classroom, where he shot the receptionist and began calmly spraying the room with bullets, reports the Los Angeles Times . He then continued to other areas of the university where he continued shooting. There were about 35 students on campus at the time.

At 10:30 a.m., a 911 caller reported a woman bleeding outside the campus.

Gon stole the car of one of his victims after the rampage and fled the scene before police responded to the campus. He later called his father from a Safeway parking lot to surrender to authorities.

Administrators had asked Gon to leave the school several months ago due to behavioral problems.
