"The acquisition of APS brings Aptean new opportunities to expand in the public sector space," said Kim Eaton, Aptean CEO. "We are excited to join the Aptean team and to benefit from their core operational efficiencies and deep knowledge in the enterprise software market," said Bill Martin, General Manager of APS. "As a part of Aptean, we can accelerate our strategy to strengthen our market share and introduce innovative solutions to drive high value for our customers. By leveraging Aptean's strengths, we can continue to provide superior service and support to our customers, enabling them to increase the productivity and safety of their law enforcement officers in the field."

APS provides automated mobile solutions to public safety agencies to address the administrative challenges of issuing traffic citations and crash/accident reports. APS's solutions also help law enforcement and court staff to quickly access, analyze, store, and share the data as well as reduce the reliance on paper-based systems. More than 1,000 police agencies rely on APS's technology to work more safely, quickly, and efficiently.

The company's flagship product, Virtual Partner 2.0, is delivered as a SaaS offering. It is an easy to use electronic citation solution which allows officers to print citations in the field and share the data with other public safety agencies. Additionally, the APS QuickVoice software system helps increase officer safety by providing an audible voice that reads data received on mobile computers in patrol vehicles, thus reducing the visual distraction of needing to read critical information on a screen during a traffic stop.

Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
