“As agencies look to expand their operational capabilities, the question isn’t whether to choose broadband or LMR, it’s how to make them work together in a way that strengthens resilience and keeps responders connected when it matters most,” said Chief Richard Carrizzo of the PSBTA.
Learning objectives for the Tech Talk include evaluating MCPTT service continuity challenges, including network unavailability scenarios and policy-based direct mode operations; analyzing hybrid device architectures that enable seamless communication across cellular and radio networks while preserving LMR requirements; and assessing lifecycle cost considerations and operational tradeoffs tied to an MCPTT-primary approach using FirstNet-enabled devices. Attendees will also hear how public safety needs are shaping the future of interoperability innovation.
