The Iowa County (Wis.) Sheriff's Office expects to save between $5,000 and $5,400 annually on fuel costs after converting one cruiser to run on propane autogas.

N.C. Agency Saves on Fuel Costs With Idle Reduction System, Propane Vehicles
The Raleigh (N.C.) Police Department has saved more than $22,000 through the use of propane autogas in 20 vehicles, and it expects savings of $63,000 through the use of Energy Xtreme Battery Systems anti-idling devices on 29 vehicles.

Video: Md. Cop Killed In Crash
A Prince George's County (Md.) Police officer died in a crash Monday, after a reckless driver ran his cruiser off the road. Officer Adrian Morris, 23, was ejected from the driver's seat of the vehicle and suffered severe head trauma.

G.M. Recalls Chevy Impala Patrol Cars
General Motors is recalling more than 38,000 Chevrolet Impala patrol cars in North America because the lower front control arms could fracture, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects Impala police vehicles from model years 2008 to 2012.

The Hazard (Ky.) Police Department is replacing its Ford Crown Victoria fleet with Dodge Chargers, beginning with the purchase of five vehicles. Sgt. Paul Campbell told the newspaper that the department chose the Charger because of its fuel economy and speed.
