2014 Police Vehicle Testing
Starting with the 2015 model year, Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors will offer at least one police vehicle in an all-wheel or four-wheel-drive configuration. In early November, GM introduced a pursuit-rated version of its four-wheel-drive Chevy Tahoe to go with the pursuit-rated RWD Tahoe. In June, Chrysler announced it would produce an AWD Charger Pursuit.

Each year, law enforcement agencies in Michigan and Southern California evaluate new pursuit-rated police vehicles from the upcoming model year. Ohio Agency's Ford Police Wagon
The Toledo (Ohio) Police Department has purchased seven Ford E-150 and five Ford E-250 vans to outfit for crime-scene investigations and special event response. Classic Chrysler Patrol Cars
Chrysler has been producing Plymouth or Dodge patrol cars since the early 1930s, and for many of those early years Plymouth turned out some special cars for police work. The earliest came when the Washington State Patrol began using a 1932 Plymouth 1932 PB coupe, according to AllPar.com. Chrysler offered its first police package on 1956 Dodge Coronets. The 1970s brought the era of Mopar squads.

Wis. Agency's Subaru STI Rally Car
The Greenfield (Wis.) Police Department's 2012 Subaru WRX STI, acquired on a courtesy lease from Schlossmann's Subaru City, makes an impression. The department has been using the vehicle for community relations, traffic enforcement, and cruising enforcement. LAPD's Patrol Car of the Future

Boston Motor Patrol
Boston celebrated two centennials in 2012—the building of Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox and the founding of the Boston Police Department's motor unit, which is known as the Mobile Operations Patrol (MOP) unit. The two centennials came together on Sept. 16, when agency brass recognized the unit's heritage during a ceremony in front of Fenway's "green monster" wall in left field.
