Last Friday the Colorado Springs Police Department agreed to the demands of 12 female officers who filed a civil suit claiming the fitness tests are discriminatory. All the officers were over the age of 40.

Today the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) participated in a Thunderclap urging Congress to take up the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Reauthorization Act. Milwaukee Gun Store Ordered to Pay $6 Million to Wounded Officers
The ruling came in a negligence lawsuit filed by the officers against Badger Guns, a shop in suburban Milwaukee that authorities have linked to hundreds of firearms found at crime scenes. The lawsuit said the shop ignored several warning signs that the gun used to shoot the officers was being sold to a so-called straw buyer who was illegally purchasing the weapon for someone else.

James and three other uniformed officers were working off-duty at a local club when a brawl involving Escamilla and other men started. Escamilla pulled out a gun and opened fire on the officers as they tried to break up the fight.

North Dakota OKs Less-Lethal Drones
It's legal for law enforcement in North Dakota to use unmanned aircraft systems, commonly called drones. Now House Bill 1328 explicitly states that they may be used to deploy non-lethal force and restricts how departments can use the unmanned aircraft to gather evidence.
