Man Charged with Murdering WA Officer Had History of 18 Felonies

The 50 year-old Rotter has a lengthy criminal history including at least 18 felonies and hundreds of contacts with Kennewick Police over the years.

As the community mourns the loss of Everett, WA, Police Officer Dan Rocha, the suspect accused in his death has been identified as Richard James Rotter.

The 50 year-old Rotter has a lengthy criminal history including at least 18 felonies and hundreds of contacts with Kennewick Police over the years, Fox reports.

Rocha leaves behind a wife, two sons and a large extended family. 

Officer Rocha was killed Friday afternoon when he was shot and then run over by a man in a Starbucks parking lot.

Bail for Rotter has been set at $5 million.
