A Wichita, KS, who was shot in the head and legs during an apparent suicide-by-cop incident Saturday has a long road to recovery.

His prognosis has improved, according to Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay.

Ramsay did not release additional details on the officer, a veteran of 5-years on the police force, including his name at the request of the family, the Salina Post reports.
