Two Birmingham police officers were shot Sunday while trying to carry out a search warrant at the home of a double murder suspect. Two other officers were reportedly "grazed." The suspect was killed.

Birmingham police officials identified the wounded officers as Officer Jacob Rouse, 28, and Officer Jeremy Dorr, 40, AL.com reports.

Rouse and Door were treated and released Sunday from UAB Hospital. They were shot in the lower extremities, said Sgt. Rod Mauldin.

The shooting happened about 1:20 p.m. Sunday when police were trying to carry out a search warrant at the Southside home of double murder suspect 39-year-old Brian Timothy Dunne. Authorities said as soon as tactical officers entered the third-floor unit at Stratford Apartments, they were met with gunfire.

Officers returned fire, killing Dunne.
