Suspect Shot Dead After Stabbing Illinois Officer

Chief Rich Brodrick said the officer was investigating a domestic disturbance and was pursuing a vehicle.

A suspect was shot dead early Tuesday morning after stabbing an East Peoria, IL, police officer, who is in stable condition according to the community's police chief.

The incident happened outside of a CVS Pharmacy at 12:50 a.m.

Chief Rich Brodrick said the officer was investigating a domestic disturbance and was pursuing a vehicle, Week.com reports.

One adult female victim and one juvenile female victim were transported to an area hospital and are recovering from injuries sustained in the initial domestic incident.

The investigation is ongoing by the Illinois State Police and ISP Crime Scene Services Command.
