Officers with the San Francisco Police Department who are tasked with patrolling a neighborhood troubled by drug dealing, homelessness, car break-ins, and a host of other unseemly activities will now have an office to operate out of at the epicenter of Mid-Market.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the small Mid-Market Foot Beat Office was unveiled by San Francisco Mayor London Breed and Police Chief Bill Scott during a ceremony on Tuesday.

The hours of operation will reflect the open hours for most of the local businesses in the area, from early morning to early evening.

The neighborhood is bordered closely by the downtown shopping district, which historically attracts millions of tourists per year.
