Montana Officer Fatally Shoots Man Suspected of Drug Activity

An officer with the Missoula Police Department shot a man after responding to a call of a man engaged in suspicious drug-related activity.

An officer with the Missoula (MT) Police Department shot a man after responding to a call of a man engaged in suspicious drug-related activity.

According to KPAX-TV, the man—identified as 35-year-old Steven Gill—after he was struck by gunfire was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

No officers were injured during the confrontation.

The Montana Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident.
