An officer with the Fox (IL) Lake Police Department was injured on Tuesday afternoon when his squad car was struck by another vehicle.

According to CBS News, the officer—whose name has not yet been released—was sitting in his patrol vehicle writing a citation at a traffic stop when another car struck his vehicle, leaving him with minor injuries.

Both the officer and the other driver were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
