All six officers survived, and the suspect—identified as 36-year-old Maurice Hill—was eventually arrested.

According to ABC News, Anthony Voci—the district attorney's homicide chief—said that the "the scale of this investigation ... is immeasurable" and will take months to complete.

The investigation will include reviewing hours of video footage from more than 250 body-worn cameras.

Hill has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault on law enforcement officers, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

He was denied bail.
