The Galesburg (IL) Police Department announced on social media that it has recently welcomed a new K-9 to its ranks who's in need of a name.
The agency said on Facebook, "We have added a new K-9 officer. The K-9 will be assigned to Officer Jake Taylor. Officer Taylor and the new K-9 will attend a 10-week academy to become trained as a K-9 team."
The post continued, "The new K-9 has not yet been named. You can help us name our new officer. If you have suggestions for a name for the new K-9 officer share it in the comments below."
Citizens offered a wide variety of choices, including Reddy, Gun, Elwood, Mission, and Rio, among others.
