The Rapid City (SD) Police Department beat out the Rapid City Fire Department in the annual "Guns 'n Hoses" Blood Drive.

According to KOTA-TV, the police attracted 454 donations, while their firefighting counterparts gathered 376 donations. Overall, 830 people gave blood in this year's competition.

Rapid City PD's Brendyn Medina said, "It does give us a chance to rub shoulders with our counterparts at the fire department and ripping each other a little bit. In the end it's all about getting the community out and helping the local blood supply."

With the Police Department's victory this year, they are now tied with the Fire Department for overall wins 7-7.
