An officer with the Chandler (AZ) Police Department saved a suicidal man from jumping off a bridge early Thursday morning.

According to the Washington Examiner, the 26-year-old man had climbed over the protective barrier on the bridge and Officer Aaron Little was the first to respond to the call of the possible impending suicide.

Officer Little repeatedly asked the man to climb back over the railing, saying he would give him a hug if he came back.

The man eventually did climb back to safety, and Officer Little gave him that promised hug.
