Two officers with the Aurora (CO) Police Department are being credited with saving an elderly couple from a burning home late last week.

According to Fox News, Officer Ryan Sweeney was heading back to the police station for his lunch break when a call came in about a structure fire in a neighborhood he had just exited. Sweeney quickly reversed direction and made his way to the scene.

He entered the structure and located an elderly gentleman in a rear bedroom. After extracting him from the residence, he asked if others were inside.

The victim said that there was another person inside, and another arriving officer—Officer Alex Diz—entered the dwelling and found a woman, who he helped to exit the burning building.
