An officer with the Cameron (MO) Police Department responding to a call of a suspect stealing goods from a local Walmart store was struck by that subject as he fled the parking lot.
According to a press release the agency posted on Facebook, the suspect backed up his vehicle, striking several cars in the lot before moving forward and striking the officer.
The suspect then led police on a lengthy pursuit which ended in the town of Wathena, KS, where the suspect was apprehended and arrested.
The officer struck by the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released.
