A Savannah, GA, police sergeant was shot and killed investigating a robbery Saturday night.

The Savannah PD said on Facebook that officers answered a robbery call about 8:10 p.m. They were given a description of the suspect's car, and while approaching the car a "shooting occurred."

Two officers and the suspect were wounded. Sgt. Kelvin Ansari later died at an area hospital. The other wounded officer was treated and released.

The suspect was also killed in the incident.
