Florida Boy Running 1 Mile for Each Fallen Officer from 2018 and 2019
In January, Cartledge vowed to run 148 miles to pay tribute to the 148 police officers who died last year in the line of duty. In addition, the 10-year-old said he will run an additional mile for every officer and other first responders killed this year.
A 10-year-old Florida boy is honoring fallen police officers by pledging to run one mile for each officer who lost their life in 2018 and 2019.
Zechariah Cartledge of Winter Springs started "Running for Heroes" as a way to pay tribute to fallen officers as well as raise $15,000 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a nonprofit that helps military and first responders in need.
In January, Cartledge vowed to run 148 miles to pay tribute to the 148 police officers who died last year in the line of duty. In addition, the 10-year-old said he will run an additional mile for every officer and other first responders killed this year. He has already run more than 100 miles since Jan. 12, SouthernThing.com reports.
