The West Liberty (IA) Police Department posted to Facebook an announcement that they are selling special edition Autism Awareness patches.

The patch is being sold in order to raise awareness about Autism in America. The department is making this effort in advance of World Autism Awareness Day, which will be Tuesday April 2nd, 2019.

West Liberty Police Chief Kary Kinmonth said in the Facebook post, "An estimated 1 in 59 children in the United States have Autism. The West Liberty Police Department is proud to offer our support to those affected with ASD—Autism Spectrum Disorder."

To purchase one of these patches, interested parties need only send payment—the special patches cost just $20—and a self-addressed stamped envelope to the following address:
