A Glenville, NY, police officer was wounded and a suspect was killed when police responded to a domestic violence call Friday night.

The Glenville officer was shot in the abdomen under his ballistic vest. A Med Flight helicopter crew transported the officer to Albany Medical Center where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition. The officer is expected to make a full recovery.

Police have not released the name of the injured officer.

The suspect was killed by police fire. He has been identified as Shenendehowa School District elementary teacher Brian Skinner, WNYT TV reports.
