Greg Meyer, a retired captain with the Los Angeles Police Department and one-time POLICE Advisory Board member, has co-founded the Association of Certified Litigation Specialists.

The group will help provide legal assistance to the law enforcement industry. Meyer co-founded the group with Dr. John G. Peters Jr., president and chief learning officer of the Institute for the Prevention and Management of In-Custody Deaths Inc.

Membership is free and open to any professional who has attained the Certified Litigation Specialist (CLS) designation from the AELE Law Enforcement Legal Center.

"John and I and very excited about the formation of ACLS," according to Meyer. "We hope and believe that ACLS will be instrumental in improving the ability of agencies to avoid lawsuits and to effectively manage lawsuits when they occur."
