Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people in a rampage at Fort Hood in 2009, will face the death penalty, the Army announced today.

Lt. Gen. Donald Campbell Jr., Fort Hood's commander, also ordered a court-martial for a trial that's likely to begin in about a year. Hasan faces 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 specifications of attempted premeditated murder.
