A newly formed firearms manufacturer called Heizer Defense will produce a "tactical pocket pistol" for law enforcement and civilian, according to the company.
Heizer, which is based in St. Louis, Mo., will provide more details about the pistol at the NASGW Show Nov. 1-4 in Reno, Nev. The show is hosted by the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers.
The firearms will "incorporate space-age high tensile alloys, USA manufacturing and the most current design capabilities," according to a press release from Heizer.
Those involved in the new company include Raymond B. Kohout, an entrepreneur with more than 32 years in the firearms industry including ownership of the then largest retail firearms store in the St. Louis metro area. Kohout also designed and manufactured the first nylon assault rifle case and military nylon holsters.
Kohout is partnering with Charles K. Heizer, an engineer who founded one of the leading aerospace manufacturing companies in the country. Other members of the Heizer team "bring critical knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering, design and machining of components for the commercial, military and aerospace industries," according to the release.
