FNH USA has started shipping the FNX-45, a double-action/single-action hammer-driven tactical pistol. This handgun is the latest addition to the company's FNX line of autoloading pistols previously offered only in 9mm or .40 S&W.
The FNX-45 is modeled after the FNP-45 service pistol developed in 2007 under the U.S. Joint Combat Pistol Program, according to the company. It will be produced in Columbia, S.C.
The FNX-45 offers ambidextrous controls and is available in matte black with a stainless steel barrel or flat dark earth with a matte black barrel. Both slides and barrels are stainless steel. It arrives with a 15-round magazine and several interchangeable backstraps. A MIL-STD 1913 mounting rail on the underside accepts tactical lights and lasers. The pistol will retail for $809.
