A conservative Maryland lawmaker will raffle off an AK-47 and AR-15 rifle during his re-election campaign to bring attention to the state's strict new gun control law, reports ABC2.
Delegate Don Dwyer said the funds would be used to help defeat lawmakers who supported the the Firearm Safety Act of 2013, which would ban magazines that hold more than 10 bullets and ban 45 types of semiautomatic rifles classified as assault weapons. The bill, which still needs the governor's signature, is set to go into effect Oct. 1.
The NRA has vowed to file a legal challenge to the law.
