DoubleTap Defense has begun shipping its Tactical Pocket Pistol, which was shelved in October after a falling out between the developer and manufacturer.
Raymond Kohout's DoubleTap Defense and Azimuth Technologies have begun shipping the slim, two-shot pistol to distributors, the company has announced. Kohout, a former firearms distributor, developed the pistol.
Several improvements have been made to the gun since it was first announced in October 2011, including interchangeable barrels (9mm and .45 ACP) with ambidextrous push pin. The pistol also includes an enhanced grip with new "FRAG" pattern, improved thumb latch, simplified four-component trigger system, double-action trigger, and ported barrels to reduce recoil and muzzle flip.
Four versions have been offered including the DoubleTap Aluminum non-ported and ported models and DoubleTap Titanium non-ported and ported models. They retail for $499, $569, $729, and $799 respectively.
Caliber conversion kits for the non-ported version retail for $199 and the ported version for $269.
