Cuyahoga Falls, OH, authorities are looking into possible criminal charges against an off-duty police officer whose gun discharged Tuesday afternoon and the bullet went into a day care center.
No one was injured.
The officer, who works for East Cleveland and as a volunteer reserve for Cuyahoga Falls, told authorities that he was unloading his 9mm Glock 19 inside his home when it went off accidentally at 3:35 p.m.
The bullet went through the wall of his home, through a fence behind the center and into the center before lodging in a wall at the KinderCare Learning Center.
The officer immediately went over to the center to make sure no one was hurt.
The officer could face felony charges for discharging a firearm in a school zone, Ohio.com reports.
