Ten days after being shot in the head during a police training accident, a University of Maryland police trainee has been released from Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Police have yet to identity the trainee other than to say he is in his 40s. He was participating in Baltimore police training exercises at the abandoned Rosewood Center for the developmentally disabled in Owings Mills. Police said a training instructor mistook his service weapon for a paint-cartridge pistol and critically injured the college officer.
