All Pennsylvania State Police Troopers Now Wearing Body Cameras

Officials said the cameras will also improve evidence collection, preparation of reports or court testimony, and training of cadets and troopers.

More than 3,000 Pennsylvania State Police troopers across the commonwealth are now patrolling the streets with body cameras after it was announced that the agency's rollout of the technology wrapped up early. The process has been going on for a few years.

"We are very happy that all the troopers now have body cameras, and that everyone in the commonwealth that does patrol will have that as a tool that they can use in their everyday lives," Trooper Bertha Cazy said Thursday.

Officials said the cameras will also improve evidence collection, preparation of reports or court testimony, and training of cadets and troopers.

The initiative also upgrades cameras in more than 1,400 patrol vehicles, WTAE reports.
