Ultra 9HD's options include a laser rangefinder, illuminator, and pointer payloads, as well as an IMU/GPS/Nav solution. The Ultra 9HD boasts matched narrow fields of view, making it easier than ever to maintain situational awareness, exercise precise system control, and deliver consistent mission effectiveness, according to the company.

The highest performance multi-sensor system in its class, Ultra 9HD is compact, lightweight, low-drag, and gyro-stabilized. Ultra 9HD's has design features made to simplify the airborne law enforcement operator's daily grind. An integral quick-disconnect mount makes getting the system on and off an aircraft simple. The 9HD's "ECU-less" design eliminates the weight of external electronic "black boxes," along with the weight of long cable runs.

Ultra 9HD's analog and digital video signals integrate with high or standard definition displays and recording devices. Its expanded interface capability allows it to work seamlessly with GPS units, moving maps, searchlight slaving units, and radar systems. The new, TFO-designed joystick controller provides full operational control of the Ultra 9HD, providing instinctive and ergonomic use over long missions.

"FLIR is proud to be the world's leading supplier of thermal imaging systems to the airborne law enforcement community, and we're excited to continue our leadership in the development of EO/IR products with the Ultra 9HD," said Earl Lewis, FLIR's chief executive. "The Ultra 9HD is a truly revolutionary product."
