Mich. Sheriff Considering Chevy Volt for Patrol
To help reduce the carbon emissions of county fleet vehicles, the Washtenaw County (Mich.) Sheriff's Office purchased an electric Chevy Volt to convert for patrol duty.

Calif. Agency's Electric Motorcycle Interdicts Drug Crimes
The Sebastopol (Calif.) Police Department found itself ahead of the curve, when Zero Motorcycles introduced a police version of its electric DS motorcycle. An enterprising sergeant with the agency had already done just that.

Miami PD Purchases 9 Electric Stand-up Vehicles
The Miami Police Department has purchased and placed into service a fleet of nine electric stand-up vehicles (ESVs) from T3 Motion Inc. The Patroller vehicles will be used to patrol high-density, high-traffic areas, including downtown Miami.

Indianapolis Police To Drive Alternative Patrol Vehicles By 2025
At POLICE, we were surprised by an article that appeared on the website of Government Fleet magazine, a sister publication. According to a news article, the Indianapolis Metro Police Department will be driving only alternative power-train vehicles by 2025.
