Pine Bluff (Ark.) Police SWAT officers shot and killed a 107-year-old man who opened fire on them during a standoff at a home on Saturday. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call involving Monroe Isadore, who had pointed a gun at his granddaughter.

A Faulkner County (Ark.) Sheriff's deputy died Monday morning after taking part in a training session in North Little Rock. Hans Fifer, 32, participated in SWAT training in North Little Rock and completed the training, when he began complaining of shortness of breath.

Ark. Cop Fatally Struck by Drugged Driver
A Conway (Ark.) Police officer succumbed to injuries he sustained when an intoxicated driver struck him at an accident scene, according to the agency. Officer William McGary, 26, died Friday afternoon after receiving treatment at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

A Hope (Ark.) Police sergeant died Saturday, after an 18-day battle with West Nile virus, the agency announced. Sgt. David "D.J." Johnson, 51, was one of nearly 40 people in the state to succumb to West Nile virus within the past several months.
