Video: Nebraska Deputies Buy Child Safety Seats for Mom they Stopped for Speeding
Dash-cam footage shows two Nebraska deputies installing two brand new child safety seats in an SUV at a traffic stop. Deputy Jason Jones had pulled over the vehicle for speeding when he noticed that the two children in the back seat were not in proper safety seats. He radioed for help, and soon thereafter, Deputy Jessica Manning arrived at the scene, with two newly purchased child safety seats.

Why Schools Should Teach Students about Policing and Constitutional Law
I've long held the belief that a year-long civics class should be a requirement nationwide. Further, these classes should include more than just the basic structure of government. Curriculum should incorporate Constitutional Law and Supreme Court cases related to the Fourth and Eighth amendments, as well as police policies, procedures, and practices.

The trooper was reportedly struck in his ballistic vest. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where officials say he is expected to be OK.

North Carolina Trooper Shot and Killed at Traffic Stop, Suspect in Custody
The Highway Patrol says Trooper Kevin Conner stopped a white GMC pickup truck on US701 in Columbus County at approximately 12:15 Wednesday morning. The driver of the pickup reportedly pulled over onto the shoulder and the trooper made his initial approach. The driver of the pickup then fired several shots, striking the trooper.

The "Community Safety Education Act" requires all high school students in Texas to watch an educational video—entitled "Flashing Lights"—to teach them how to safely interact with a police officer during traffic stops. The goal of Senate Bill 30—passed by the 85th Texas Legislature—is to define the behavior and expectations of citizens and law enforcement during traffic stop interactions.

Former Florida Officer Sentenced to 6 Years for Shakedowns at Traffic Stops
Jose Acosta—a former rookie police officer with the Miami Police Department— pleaded guilty to 10 counts of burglary, 10 counts of false imprisonment, eight counts of grand theft and two counts of petit theft and was sentenced to six years in prison. That term could be reduced to three years with good behavior.
