Matthew Tyner, a 13-year veteran of the department, was riding his motorcycle and conducting traffic enforcement when he collided with a vehicle on Austin Bluffs Parkway near Oro Blanco Drive.

Texas Agency Picks Victory for Motor Patrol
The Tyler (Texas) Police Department took delivery of 10 Victory Commander I police motorcycles in March. The motorcycles were delivered ready for duty with lights and siren, radios, radio connections, radar, and video equipment.

Why Motor Cops Should Wear a Full-Face Helmet
With the crop of quicker, more agile police motorcycles now arriving at law enforcement agencies, you would think helmet progression would be parallel. Agencies have hesitated to adopt advanced helmets such as Shoei's Multitec that are specifically designed for today's cycles.

Fla. Motor Cop Killed In Crash
A Seminole County (Fla.) Sheriff's deputy was killed in a crash, after a driver pulled out in front of him while turning left on Monday afternoon. Deputy Matt Miller served with the agency for nearly 24 years.

Victory Police Motorcycles
Victory Motorcycles, a division of Polaris, has introduced three new motorcycles into the police market for 2012βthe Commander I, Commander II, and Vision. The touring-type bikes are conversions of the civilian Victory models Cross Country, Cross Roads, and Vision Tour respectively. The distinctively styled bikes have been upfitted for police use, tested in Michigan and Los Angeles by precision LE drivers, and adopted by several smaller agencies. Victory reps tout the officer-safety features on the cycles.
